Colts confirm active trade discussions for running back Jonathan Taylor

Résumé

Indianapolis has indicated that Jonathan Taylor is available for trade, with interest from several NFL teams and the Colts seeking a multi-pick package.

The Indianapolis Colts have officially signaled that running back Jonathan Taylor is available for trade, according to a report that cited a selective leak to ESPNFL. The team said trade talks are “active and ongoing.”

Teams that have shown at least some interest include the Denver Broncos, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, New York Giants and Seattle Seahawks. Sources also noted that the Giants have recently entered the discussion.

The Colts are reportedly aiming for a compensation package comparable to the 2022 trade that sent Christian McCaffrey to the Carolina Panthers, which involved a second-round, third-round and fourth-round pick in the 2023 draft and a fifth-round pick in 2024.

While the league’s schedule continues, the Colts could choose to keep Taylor out of the upcoming game against Jacksonville to avoid injury risk, a strategy previously used by other clubs during trade negotiations. If Taylor does not play, rookie running back Seth McGowan is expected to start.

The Minnesota Vikings have been highlighted as a likely destination, having recently scouted Taylor during a game in which he recorded 18 carries for 95 yards and a 38-yard touchdown.
