President Donald Trump responded to a reporter’s inquiry about his health by commenting on the journalist’s physical shape, amid the cancellation of campaign events in Kansas and Iowa.
President Donald Trump rebuked a reporter who asked whether his recent cancellation of campaign rallies in Kansas and Iowa was due to health concerns. Trump said the question was "sick" and then turned the focus to the reporter’s appearance, stating, "Look at this guy. He's way out of shape... you look like hell. Put yourself in shape," while asserting that he felt fine and was not traveling to Kansas because he "doesn't feel like going there."
The remarks came as Trump’s campaign organization, MAGA Inc., announced plans for a series of virtual rallies in at least 19 states, including the two where the in-person events were canceled. The midterm elections, scheduled for Nov. 3, will decide control of 470 House and Senate seats for the remainder of Trump’s term.
Trump has previously made comments on the physical appearance of political figures and public personalities during the campaign season, praising some candidates’ looks while criticizing others.
