Patriots wide receiver A.J. Brown misses practice with knee issue, game status uncertain

Resumen

Veteran receiver A.J. Brown was absent from Thursday's practice due to a flare-up of a knee injury, leaving his availability for Sunday’s game in Miami unclear.

Veteran Patriots wide receiver A.J. Brown did not attend Thursday's practice after a knee injury worsened, according to NFL Network. The knee problem, described as a "flare-up," adds uncertainty to his status for the team's Sunday matchup in Miami.

Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels declined to give a definitive health update, noting Brown has played eight quarters over two months and participated in four practices since returning from injured reserve. He said the team will adjust its game plan based on Brown's condition and praised the receiver's attitude and work ethic.

The Patriots acquired Brown in June by trading a 2028 first-round pick to Philadelphia. Team officials were aware of a pre-existing degenerative knee condition, but the medical staff cleared him to play.

Brown's absence highlights depth concerns at receiver, as the Patriots also have Mack Hollins and Romeo Doubs on injured reserve. Hollins is expected to return to practice next week, while Doubs remains out until Week 12.

Teammates expressed admiration for Brown, with receiver Efton Chism III calling him a "great role model" and Kyle Williams saying his presence adds a "security blanket" to the offense.
