सारांश

The first round of the 113th Grey Cup playoffs starts Saturday, featuring Winnipeg against Toronto and Saskatchewan against the B.C. Lions, while top seeds await in the division finals.

Saturday marks the opening round of the 113th Grey Cup playoffs, with two games pitting teams that finished the regular season with identical records. In the East semifinal, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (9-9) cross over to face second-place Toronto Argonauts (9-9) at 1 p.m. ET. In the West semifinal, the B.C. Lions (10-8) host defending champion Saskatchewan Roughriders (10-8) at 4:30 p.m. ET. Top-seeded Montreal and Edmonton enjoy a bye before hosting their respective division finals next week, and the winners will meet in the Grey Cup in Calgary on Nov. 15.

Winnipeg entered the playoffs after a 34-10 win over B.C., but will be without starting quarterback Zach Collaros, who is questionable with a rib injury. Backup Dru Brown threw two touchdowns in the fourth quarter of the previous game. The Bombers will rely on running back Brady Oliveira, the league’s leading rusher with 1,493 yards.

Toronto’s quarterback Chad Kelly, who signed a five-year, $5.5 million extension, posted career highs in passing yards (5,067), touchdowns (33) and completion percentage (70.9) last season, though he also led the league with 24 interceptions.

Defending champion Saskatchewan, the third-place West team, is a seven-point underdog against B.C. The Roughriders are led by veteran quarterback Trevor Harris, who topped the league with 5,370 passing yards and 32 touchdowns, while also throwing 15 interceptions. His primary target, KeeSean Johnson, finished second in the league with 108 receptions and third in receiving yards (1,328).

B.C. relies on reigning most-outstanding player Nathan Rourke, who recorded 4,614 passing yards, 24 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, and added 356 rushing yards. The Lions rebounded from a 1-5 start to win nine of their next ten games, securing the No. 2 seed before losing their final two matches with no playoff implications.
