Trump cancels Kansas and Iowa rallies, shifts to virtual events ahead of election

Resumen

President Donald Trump called off in-person rallies in Kansas and Iowa and will hold more than 20 virtual rallies before Election Day, citing scheduling changes.

President Donald Trump announced the cancellation of two scheduled campaign appearances in Kansas and Iowa just days before Election Day, opting instead for a series of virtual rallies. The Kansas event, planned at Salina Regional Airport to support Sen. Roger Marshall, was called off, and the Iowa rally at the Five Flags Event Center in Dubuque was also scrapped.

Trump responded sharply to a reporter’s question about his health, calling the journalist “disgusting” and “way out of shape.” He later said he felt “perfect” and did not need to travel to Kansas.

The White House said the president will “continue connecting directly with Americans nationwide through more than 20 telerallies before election day,” adding that the format allows him to highlight his accomplishments and reach a broader audience.

Kansas GOP officials indicated they were informed of the cancellations through the Republican National Committee and noted the importance of the state in upcoming races.

Polls show Democrats are within striking distance in several Senate contests, including Kansas, where the last Democratic senator was elected in 1939.
