WNBA Finals Game 6 sells out despite midday start and scheduling conflicts

Résumé

Game 6 of the WNBA Finals between the Golden State Valkyries and Atlanta Dream sold out after tickets went on sale, with secondary-market activity up more than 600% from the previous year.

The championship-deciding Game 6 of the WNBA Finals will be played on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. Eastern Time at State Farm Arena, the venue also hosting an NBA game later that evening. The Golden State Valkyries will face the Atlanta Dream, who are appearing in their first finals since 2013.

Ticket sales for the 2026 finals have surged, with StubHub reporting a more than 600% increase compared with the 2025 series between the Las Vegas Aces and Phoenix Mercury. The game sold out shortly after tickets became available on Monday, and secondary-market listings have been active, with the average get-in price rising from $38 to $71 on Thursday morning after a low of 59% over the prior three days.

The scheduling shift follows earlier adjustments in the series, including moving Game 3 to avoid a concert conflict and moving Game 4 to an afternoon start to accommodate an NBA home opener. Approximately 42% of tickets for the Atlanta games have been purchased by buyers outside Georgia, indicating broader regional interest.

League officials have considered alternative venues, such as the Dream’s regular home arena in College Park or other Georgia facilities, to maximize attendance, but the decision to hold the final at State Farm Arena aims to accommodate the larger crowd expected for the championship.
