Candice Swanepoel and Joan Smalls, longtime Victoria’s Secret Angels, are rumored to be at odds after a series of Instagram interactions that appeared to reference a personal conflict involving Tom Brady. The speculation began when a social-media account reported that Smalls unfollowed Swanepoel, followed by screenshots of a deleted comment in which Smalls allegedly called Swanepoel a “backstabber.”

Smalls later replied to a Just Jared post about the alleged fallout, writing “Two words: SUMMER HOUSE!” – a phrase that has been used to describe other celebrity friendship breakups. The comment was interpreted as a hint toward the source of the tension.

Media outlets have noted that Swanepoel’s relationship with Brady was reported shortly before Smalls posted a series of black-and-white photos captioned “vive tu verdad” (“live your truth”), ending with a quote about “living your naked truth.” An anonymous source cited by Page Six claimed Swanepoel encouraged Smalls to end her involvement with Brady, prompting Smalls to seek support from mutual friends.

“She and Joan share a long-standing history and a friendship that Candice will always respect,” a Swanepoel representative told The Cut, adding that the model remains private about her personal life and focuses on raising her children.

Smalls has continued to post pointed messages, including a Halloween-themed Instagram story stating, “This Halloween I’m dressing up as accountability. Apparently that’s the scariest … thing some people can face.”

Neither Swanepoel nor Brady has publicly commented on the rumors.
