Milwaukee Brewers завоевали первый титул чемпиона Мировой серии с победой 4-1 над Rays
Brewers победили Tampa Bay Rays со счётом 4-1 в пятой игре, обеспечив франшизе первую победу в Мировой серии.
Milwaukee secured its first World Series championship after a 4-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 5. The win capped a season in which the Brewers posted the league's best regular-season record at 103-59.
In the second inning, rookie Cooper Pratt delivered an RBI single off Rays starter Drew Rasmussen to give Milwaukee an early lead. Pitcher Jacob Misiorowski worked 5.2 innings, allowing two hits and one walk before exiting with a cramp. The bullpen held the lead, with David Hamilton adding an RBI single in the fifth and Pratt contributing a sac-fly RBI in the sixth, while Williams Contreras drove in Christian Yelich.
The Rays, who had previously forced a walk-off win in Game 4, were unable to mount a comeback. The Brewers' victory marked the culmination of a 44-year gap since their 1982 World Series appearance.
"Quite frankly, that's how baseball's supposed to be played," former New York Yankees player Derek Jeter said about the Brewers' style of play.
The championship follows Milwaukee's strong postseason performance, which included a 10-1 win in Game 3 at Tropicana Field.
