Comedian Nathan Fielder expressed ongoing confusion about why he and director Lance Oppenheim were selected to film Elizabeth Holmes' final month of freedom.

Comedian Nathan Fielder and filmmaker Lance Oppenheim said they remain uncertain about the reasons Elizabeth Holmes and Billy Evans chose them to direct the documentary "You Can See Everything." Oppenheim recalled that before filming began, Evans showed a video of Holmes crying while he mentioned having just watched "Pride and Prejudice," prompting questions about the type of moments the subjects wanted captured.

"Are these the type of moments that you are interested in having us [capture]? What do you want us to see? What is the object of your guys’ inquiry with this?" Oppenheim said.

Fielder echoed the confusion, noting that the project felt strange because the motives of Holmes and Evans were unclear.

"Why us? Why are we there? I mean, I like myself enough, but I would not want me there for my last moments of freedom, if that makes sense," he told an audience.

He added that the team sensed a hidden game they could not decipher but decided to proceed and see what emerged.

When asked if he had gained any clarity after completing the film, Fielder responded bluntly that he had not.

The documentary, released in U.S. theaters on October 16, follows Holmes during the final month before her imprisonment, documenting her daily activities at the invitation of Holmes and Evans.
