Granddaughter Says She Was Not Surprised by Allegations Against Thomas Markle
Noelle Rasmussen, Thomas Markle’s granddaughter, told the Telegraph she was not surprised by the child-sex abuse investigation into her 82-year-old grandfather, citing a longstanding sense that something was off about him.
Noelle Rasmussen, the daughter of Samantha Markle and granddaughter of Thomas Markle, said she was not surprised by the recent investigation into her grandfather’s alleged possession of child-pornography. Speaking from her home in New Mexico, Rasmussen told the Telegraph that she had always felt “something’s not right” about him, even though she was never a victim herself.
“I don’t know why it’s not a surprise,” she said, adding that her intuition had warned her about his behavior.
Rasmussen expressed support for her aunt, Meghan Markle, in keeping her children, Archie and Lilibet, away from Thomas Markle while the investigation proceeds.
“I support her decision to prevent her kids from seeing him,” she said.
She also criticized the handling of a 2019 warning letter written by Thomas Markle’s ex-wife, Roslyn Loveless, which she said was not forwarded to U.S. authorities, describing the lapse as a failure of the police system.
Thomas Markle has denied the allegations, calling them false. The FBI has indicated readiness to assist Philippine authorities in examining the material, according to a statement from Philippine National Police Colonel Allen Rae Co.
