S-Game’s upcoming action title Phantom Blade Zero will ship with a large day-one update that improves ray-tracing performance, while the developer advises NVIDIA users to stick with driver version 617.42 until a newer compatible driver is released.

Chinese studio S-Game announced that its new action game Phantom Blade Zero will be released on PC and PlayStation 5 with a 5 GB day-one patch. The update, confirmed by the game’s director and producer Soulframe Liang, is intended to enhance ray-tracing and path-tracing performance and address several bugs. Players who have pre-loaded the game can download the patch before launch; those who have not can obtain the latest version directly.

Liang also cautioned NVIDIA GPU owners about driver compatibility. He reported that the latest NVIDIA driver 621.01 shows unstable performance in certain scenarios, and that driver version 617.42 currently offers the most reliable experience with Phantom Blade Zero. Users who have already upgraded can revert to the older driver via a clean reinstall, or wait for an upcoming driver update from NVIDIA.

The developer’s statements were shared on Chinese social media and on the game’s subreddit, where the patch details were translated for the broader community.
