Apple CEO shares teaser video ahead of touchscreen MacBook launch

Résumé

Apple CEO John Ternus posted a short video showing the company logo projected onto a night skyline, preceding an event where Apple is expected to unveil touchscreen MacBook models with OLED displays.

Apple chief executive John Ternus posted a brief video on X that shows an Apple logo projected onto a dark wall against a nighttime city skyline. The clip was shared a few hours before Apple is slated to announce new MacBook models featuring touch-enabled OLED screens.

Apple hosted a "Pro and tell" session in Los Angeles at 10 a.m. Pacific Time, inviting selected technology reporters and content creators. Attendees are expected to receive hands-on time with the upcoming touchscreen MacBooks, as well as the newly announced iPad mini, iMac and 14-inch MacBook Pro models.

The rumored touchscreen MacBooks are said to come in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes, equipped with OLED panels that offer higher contrast, vivid colors and greater brightness. They are expected to support touch input alongside the traditional keyboard and trackpad, feature a firmer hinge to reduce wobble, and incorporate a redesigned cooling system that improves airflow through the hinge. Additional details include a Dynamic Island interface, thinner bezels, reduced weight, a slightly slimmer chassis, and Apple-designed M5 Pro or M5 Max processors. The devices will run macOS Golden Gate, which is anticipated to include touchscreen optimizations and dedicated controls.

Pricing in the United States is projected to start at $2,899 for the 14-inch model and $3,399 for the 16-inch model. Pre-orders are expected to open at 10:10 a.m. Pacific Time on the day of the event.
