Trump says U.S. position strong on Iran, leaves open possibility of post-election strikes

सारांश

President Donald Trump said the United States is in a strong position against Iran and hinted that military action after the November midterms remains possible, while noting Iran’s economic challenges.

President Donald Trump told reporters that the United States is "in a very good position" regarding its strategy against Iran and suggested that Tehran may be waiting for the upcoming U.S. midterm elections before pursuing a deal. He said, "> I think that with Iran we're in a very good position. It's a question when do I want to end it?" and added that Iran’s economy is under pressure, citing high inflation.

When asked whether the United States might strike Iran after the November elections, Trump replied, "> I can't tell you that... but anything's possible." He did not provide a definitive timeline.

Separately, the Israel Defense Forces reported killing three members of Hamas' military wing in Gaza, describing the targets as involved in recent attacks against Israeli civilians and troops.

U.S. Department of Defense data obtained by Reuters show that spending on the Iran conflict has exceeded $47 billion, surpassing the Pentagon’s July estimate by more than 25 %. The bulk of the cost, over $29 billion, is attributed to munitions replenishment, with additional expenditures for equipment replacements and other war-related expenses.
