Apple acknowledges inner display issue on limited iPhone Duo units

摘要

Apple said it is aware of a problem affecting the inner screen of a small number of iPhone Duo phones and advises users to contact AppleCare for replacements.

Apple confirmed that it is aware of a defect affecting the inner display of a limited number of iPhone Duo devices after some early buyers reported cracked screens. The company told customers experiencing the issue to reach out to AppleCare for a replacement, although no such reports have been recorded in India.

Apple added that the initial response to the iPhone Duo from users has been positive and that developers are quickly updating apps to leverage the phone’s foldable design. Bloomberg’s tech editor Mark Gurman noted that some owners have shared images and accounts of the $2,000 device breaking within hours of use.

The iPhone Duo, launched alongside the iPhone 18 Pro series, features a 5.4-inch cover display and a 7.6-inch main OLED screen, runs on the A20 Pro processor, and includes a 48 MP main camera, a 48 MP ultrawide lens, a 12 MP front camera on the cover, and an under-display FaceTime camera. Priced at ₹2,99,900 in India, it became available on October 23.

Social media users have questioned whether images of broken Duo screens are AI-generated, but those claims remain unverified.
