Resumen

The sequel to Rajinikanth's 2023 hit continued to draw audiences, earning a net ₹9.45 crore on day 13 and bringing its Indian total to about ₹408 crore.

Rajinikanth's sequel Jailer 2, which opened on October 15, maintained its box-office momentum on its second Monday, adding a net ₹9.45 crore from 10,450 shows, according to trade tracker Sacnilk. The earnings lifted the film's Indian net total to roughly ₹408.15 crore and its gross to ₹477.85 crore.

Overseas collections stood at about ₹2.50 crore, taking the worldwide gross to ₹733.35 crore. The Tamil version contributed the most on day 13 with ₹5.65 crore, followed by the Telugu version at ₹2 crore and the Hindi version at ₹1.40 crore, despite limited screening by the PVR-Inox chain in northern regions.

"The sequel to Jailer is a solid commercial entertainer thanks to Superstar Rajinikanth. There's humour, action, music and a star who continues to command the frame, though the writing occasionally loses its way especially in the second half. Ultimately, Nelson Dilipkumar's Jailer 2 is a fun, engaging watch and with the promise of Jailer 3, the story of Tiger Muthuvel Pandian is far from over," wrote Latha Srinivasan in her NDTV review.

The film, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures, features an ensemble cast that includes Ramya Krishnan, SJ Suryah, Mohanlal, Vidya Balan, Suraj Venjaramoodu and Mithun Chakraborty. Music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Vijay Kartik Kannan and editing by R. Nirmal.
