G Flip and Chrishell Stause Confirm Split, Reveal They Were Not Legally Married
The former couple announced their breakup after four years together and disclosed that their multiple wedding-style ceremonies were not legally binding, meaning no divorce filing is required.
Chrishell Stause and musician G Flip announced on social media that their four-year relationship has ended. Stause posted a tearful Instagram video saying she did not have all the information or reasons for the split but still loves her ex, while G Flip shared an Instagram story noting the pair’s “special connection” that he will “cherish forever.”
Sources close to the couple told TMZ that the two were never legally married, so no divorce proceedings will be necessary. The pair had previously shared photos from several vow-renewal ceremonies, beginning with a non-binding ceremony in a Las Vegas chapel in 2023 that did not involve a marriage license. They later renewed vows at an Australian event on Stause’s 43rd birthday and again in 2025 at a medieval-themed celebration at a Los Angeles castle.
Although the ceremonies were not official, G Flip often referred to Stause as his “wife,” and Stause has said the events did not diminish the significance of their relationship. In a 2023 radio interview she remarked, “It doesn’t matter what we do for the rest of our lives, we’re going to hear criticism…so we decided we are always just going to do exactly what we want to do and I’m not out here to try and prove people how serious or meaningful it was.”
In her breakup announcement, Stause said the two had “agreed to treat this public separation with love and respect for each other” and that she was “in the process of healing.” G Flip added on Instagram, “My head & heart are feeling very heavy right now and I’m not able to talk but I want to thank you all for your support and appreciate you respecting our privacy at this difficult time.”
