Colts reportedly set price for Jonathan Taylor ahead of trade deadline

Summary

The Indianapolis Colts are said to be seeking a second-round draft pick, possibly more, for running back Jonathan Taylor as several teams show interest before the Nov. 10 deadline.

The Indianapolis Colts are reportedly asking for a second-round draft pick, with the possibility of additional compensation, to trade running back Jonathan Taylor, according to ESPN reporter Jordan Raanan. The trade window closes on Nov. 10, and multiple clubs have been linked to the 27-year-old, including the Green Bay Packers, Seattle Seahawks, Minnesota Vikings, Denver Broncos and New York Giants, as noted by NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, ESPN's Adam Schefter and The Athletic's Jonathan Jones.

"They don't want to trade Jonathan Taylor, which doesn't mean they won't trade him, but I don't think they want to, and today I would say they don't," Schefter said on the Pat McAfee Show, adding that the Colts may focus on moving other players such as defensive end DeForest Buckner, wide receiver Josh Downs and defensive tackle Grover Stewart.

The Colts, who are 2-5 after seven games, dismissed general manager Chris Ballard on Oct. 19 and have placed head coach Shane Steichen under scrutiny. The franchise has already begun roster moves, trading guard Quenton Nelson to Seattle and actively seeking a trade for defensive tackle DeForest Buckner, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz.

Taylor remains a productive player, ranking fifth in the league with 587 rushing yards and tied for the most rushing touchdowns at eight, while also contributing 17 receptions for 178 yards in the passing game.
