Nvidia Reports Record Q2 Revenue Amid AI Demand, Faces Export Challenges

Summary

Nvidia's Q2 fiscal 2026 revenue surged 56% year-over-year to $46.7 billion, driven by AI hardware demand, while export restrictions to China present challenges.

Nvidia Corporation reported a 56% year-over-year increase in revenue for the second quarter of fiscal 2026, reaching $46.7 billion. This growth was primarily driven by the Data Center segment, which saw revenues of $41.1 billion, up 56% from the previous year. The company's Blackwell Data Center revenue grew 17% sequentially.

Despite these gains, Nvidia faced challenges due to U.S. export restrictions on AI chip sales to China. The company reported no H20 sales to China-based customers in the second quarter.

In the Gaming segment, Nvidia achieved revenues of $4.3 billion, marking a 49% increase from the previous year. This growth was bolstered by the launch of the Blackwell-powered GeForce RTX 5060, which quickly became the company's fastest-ramping x60-class GPU.

Nvidia's CEO, Jensen Huang, highlighted the significance of the Blackwell platform, stating, "Blackwell is the AI platform the world has been waiting for, delivering an exceptional generational leap."

The company also announced an additional $60 billion to its share repurchase authorization, bringing the total available for repurchase to $71.2 billion.

Looking ahead, Nvidia projects third-quarter revenues of $54 billion, excluding any H20 shipments to China.
