Indian-origin executives drive Anthropic's IPO preparation

Ամփոփում

Anthropic's upcoming public offering is being steered by Indian-origin leaders, including CFO Krishna Rao, CTO Rahul Patil, Claude Code co-creator Sid Bidasaria, and Long-Term Benefit Trust chair Neil “Buddy” Shah.

Anthropic, the AI research lab planning a major initial public offering, is led by a cohort of Indian-origin executives overseeing finance, technology, product development and governance.

Krishna Rao, who became the company's first chief financial officer in May 2024, has managed fundraising that raised at least $125 billion since early 2025 and oversees computing infrastructure agreements valued at over $800 billion. His base salary increased from $700,000 in early 2025 to $1.25 million by February 2026, and he held roughly 9.5 million Anthropic shares as of September 30, 2026.

Rahul Patil, appointed chief technology officer in October 2025, leads engineering, infrastructure and security for the Claude AI models. Patil previously held senior engineering roles at Stripe, Oracle Cloud, Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure, and holds advanced degrees in computer science and business administration.

Sid Bidasaria, a co-creator of the Claude Code tool, serves as the technical lead for the product, which generated an annualised revenue run rate of $2.5 billion in February 2026 after evolving from an internal experiment to a standalone offering.

Neil “Buddy” Shah, an Indian-American physician and development economist, chairs Anthropic’s Long-Term Benefit Trust, an independent body that influences board appointments and oversees a public-benefit fund allocated 5 percent of the company’s shares. Shah receives $425,000 annually for his trustee and chair roles and also serves as a manager of the proposed public-benefit fund alongside the company’s co-founders.
