UAE Crown Prince Visits Ottawa as Canada and United Arab Emirates Detail Strategic Partnership

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney welcomed Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the crown prince of the United Arab Emirates, to Parliament Hill for a ceremony before a signing event. The two leaders are set to share details of a strategic partnership that builds on a free trade agreement concluded earlier this year after 47 days of negotiations.

Carney, who hosted a state dinner for the crown prince in downtown Ottawa, said the two countries share a determination to "build for the future."

The visit follows Carney's trip to the United Arab Emirates last November, during which the UAE pledged to invest roughly $70 billion in Canada.
