FBI Executes Search of Beverly Hills Home Linked to Eric Swalwell Investigation
The FBI conducted a search of a Beverly Hills mansion owned by a donor to former Representative Eric Swalwell as part of a criminal investigation related to the former lawmaker.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation carried out a search of a Beverly Hills mansion on Tuesday, citing an operation in the Los Angeles area tied to an ongoing criminal investigation. The property is owned by a donor to former Representative Eric Swalwell, according to two sources familiar with the matter.
The FBI confirmed the action in a statement to CNN, noting the operation was related to a criminal probe but declined to provide further details. Swalwell, who resigned from Congress and ended his gubernatorial campaign in April, has been the focus of multiple federal and state investigations following reports of sexual misconduct allegations.
The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office and the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department opened separate investigations after the allegations were reported. In August, federal agents seized electronic devices from Swalwell at San Francisco International Airport and subsequently searched his Washington, D.C., residence as part of the same inquiry.
Lawyers for Swalwell have not responded to requests for comment. The story is developing.
