HBO Announces Cast for James and Lily Potter and Charlie Weasley in New Series
HBO revealed that Jasper Talbot and Hannah Chinn will portray James and Lily Potter, while Harry Gilby joins as Charlie Weasley in its upcoming Harry Potter adaptation.
HBO has confirmed the casting of Jasper Talbot as James Potter and Hannah Chinn as Lily Potter for its television adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s \"Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone\". The series, scheduled to premiere on December 25, also adds Harry Gilby as Charlie Weasley, the second-eldest son of Arthur (Rafe Spall) and Molly Weasley (Katherine Parkinson).
The first season features Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape and Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid, along with a supporting ensemble that includes Rory Wilmot, Lox Pratt, Daniel Rigby, Bel Powley, Luke Thallon, Warwick Davis and Beertie Carvel.
Season two additions announced for the upcoming \"Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets\" include Kit Harington as Gilderoy Lockhart, Bonnie Hill as Ginny Weasley, Lenny Rush as Dobby, Billy Barratt as Tom Riddle, Molly Hewitt-Richards as Moaning Myrtle and Jasper Ambrose as Colin Creevey.
The series is written and executive produced by Francesca Gardiner, with Mark Mylod serving as executive producer and director for multiple episodes. Executive producers also include J.K. Rowling, Neil Blair, Ruth Kenley-Letts, David Heyman, Laura Neal and Jon Brown, in partnership with Brontë Film and TV and Warner Bros. Television.
