iPhone 18e expected to keep 60Hz display, may add higher-resolution front camera

摘要

Apple's upcoming iPhone 18e is rumored to retain a 60Hz OLED screen and a 48-MP rear camera while possibly upgrading the front-facing camera to 24 MP, and it is slated to use the new A20 processor.

Apple's next entry-level iPhone, the iPhone 18e, is reported to keep a 6.12-inch OLED panel with a 60Hz refresh rate and a single 48-megapixel rear camera, according to leaker "Digital Chat Station" on Weibo. The device is also expected to be powered by the upcoming A20 chip, which would be manufactured on a 2nm process and offer performance and efficiency gains over the current A19 chip used in the iPhone 17e.

The leaker suggested the front-facing camera could be upgraded to 24 megapixels, though it was unclear whether this refers to a new sensor or a misstatement about the 18-megapixel Center Stage camera introduced with the iPhone 17 series. Either way, a 24-megapixel unit would be an improvement over the 12-megapixel front camera found in the iPhone 16e and 17e.

The iPhone 18e is anticipated to launch in spring 2027 alongside the standard iPhone 18 and iPhone Air 2. Earlier speculation had linked a higher-refresh-rate LTPO display to a later "iPhone 19e" model expected in 2028.
