Meta Unveils Trio of Smart Glasses at Connect 2025
Meta introduced three new smart glasses models at its Connect 2025 event, including the Ray-Ban Meta Display with built-in video overlay.
At the Meta Connect 2025 event, the company unveiled three new smart glasses models: the second-generation Ray-Ban Meta glasses, the Oakley Meta Vanguard sports glasses, and the Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses, priced at $799. The Ray-Ban Display glasses feature a built-in video overlay, marking a significant advancement in Meta's wearable technology offerings.
The second-generation Ray-Ban Meta glasses, starting at $379, offer improvements over the previous model, including enhanced battery life of up to eight hours with typical use, a 12-megapixel camera capable of 3K Ultra HD video capture at up to 60 frames per second, and 32GB of storage.
The Oakley Meta Vanguard sports glasses, priced at $499, are designed for athletes and feature a wraparound frame with a centrally located camera to minimize obstructions from headgear. They include a 12-megapixel camera with a 122-degree wide-angle lens, adjustable video stabilization, and dedicated modes for slow-motion and hyperlapse video capture. Battery life supports six hours of continuous music playback and nine hours of mixed use.
The Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses incorporate a translucent heads-up display that allows users to view and respond to text chats, AI prompts, directions, and video calls. Interaction is facilitated through gestures and a dedicated electromyography (EMG) wristband, the Meta Neural Band, enabling users to control the interface with hand movements.
These announcements underscore Meta's commitment to advancing wearable technology and integrating augmented reality into everyday eyewear.
