Jay-Z to headline Super Bowl LXI halftime show at SoFi Stadium

Summary

Rapper Jay-Z will headline the halftime performance of Super Bowl LXI on Feb. 14 at Los Angeles' SoFi Stadium, marking his first appearance after years of producing the show with the NFL.

Rapper Jay-Z has confirmed he will headline the halftime show of Super Bowl LXI, scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 14, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. His entertainment company, Roc Nation, has partnered with the NFL on halftime productions since 2019, and this will be the first time the artist himself takes the stage.

"From Reasonable Doubt to standing on the Super Bowl Halftime stage, this has been a journey," Jay-Z said, noting the milestone coincides with the 30th anniversary of his debut album. The performance follows a series of notable acts, including Bad Bunny, who headlined last year, and Kendrick Lamar, whose 2022 show set viewership records.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said the league has long valued Roc Nation's involvement and expressed excitement about Jay-Z's upcoming appearance. "When we first reached an agreement with Roc Nation to produce the show, I had just one request: that Jay-Z take the stage himself one day, whenever the moment felt right to him," Goodell said.

Jay-Z, a 25-time Grammy winner and the first hip-hop artist inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, will join a lineup of past halftime performers that includes Kendrick Lamar, Michael Jackson, Coldplay and Rihanna.
