Brewers aim to extend World Series lead in Game 3 at Tampa Bay
The Milwaukee Brewers, up 2-0, travel to Tropicana Field for Game 3 of the World Series, where Freddy Peralta will pitch for the Tampa Bay Rays.
Milwaukee will try to clinch a third straight win in the World Series as they head to Tropicana Field for Game 3 against the Tampa Bay Rays. The Brewers entered the game with a season-high seven-game winning streak and a 2-0 series advantage.
Freddy Peralta, who was with Milwaukee during the 2018 rebuild, is slated to start for the Rays. In his previous appearance against Milwaukee on July 20 as a New York Met, he allowed seven runs on eight hits.
Milwaukee’s lineup features several hitters who have recorded at least one hit against Peralta, including William Contreras, who is batting .500 in the series, and Jackson Chourio, who is hitting .444 with an RBI and two stolen bases.
Robert Gasser is expected to provide relief for the Brewers after the starter, having allowed just one run over nine innings this postseason.
For Tampa Bay, manager Kevin Cash has left Jonathan Aranda out of the starting lineup for the first time this series, despite Aranda reaching base in five of his eight World Series plate appearances. Ryan Vilade is expected to replace him when Gasser exits the game.
The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. Central Time start and will be televised on FOX, with radio coverage on WTMJ.
