Anthropic files S-1 revealing rapid enterprise growth and major cloud compute contracts

摘要

Anthropic's IPO prospectus shows over 11,900 enterprise customers, 80% consumption-based revenue and multi-billion dollar compute agreements with SpaceX and Microsoft.

Anthropic disclosed that its enterprise customer base exceeded 11,900 accounts generating at least $100,000 in revenue over the trailing twelve-month period as of Sept. 30, 2026. More than 1,900 of those customers contributed $1 million or more, and roughly 250 generated $10 million or more in revenue.

The filing highlighted that consumption-based revenue reached $13.1 billion, representing 80% of total revenue for the six months ended June 30, 2026, while subscription revenue accounted for $3.2 billion, or 20%. > "We expect consumption-based revenue to continue to represent the substantial majority of total revenue for the foreseeable future," the prospectus said.

Anthropic reported a workforce of 5,300 employees at the end of September, up from 940 at the end of 2024, and said revenue per employee was $6.6 million, which it described as reflecting a high concentration of AI research talent.

The company said it refers to its staff internally as "Ants," a nickname intended to capture a collaborative, low-ego culture. It also noted that more than 90% of code contributions in September were generated by its own Claude model.

Anthropic agreed to pay SpaceX roughly $3.1 billion per month for NVIDIA-GPU compute capacity once the full commitment is delivered, with total spend capped at $120.5 billion through 2029. SpaceX reported that Anthropic accounted for $5 billion, or 34.5% of its quarterly revenue.

Separate agreements with Microsoft, Nscale, Lambda and other cloud providers also provide NVIDIA-GPU compute. Under a revised deal, Anthropic will spend at least $44.9 billion with Microsoft between November 2026 and May 2033, a contract that can be terminated only for material breach.

Compensation details disclosed that CEO Dario Amodei earned $17.96 million in 2025, primarily from stock and options, while his sister Daniela Amodei received $16.4 million. Both saw base salaries rise to $1.38 million as of July 1. CFO Krishna Rao’s base salary increased to $1.25 million.

Analyst Sinan Aral of MIT Sloan commented that Anthropic’s ability to achieve enterprise profitability will be key to its valuation, which ranges from $1.5 trillion to $2 trillion, implying a revenue multiple of 22-30 times.

The prospectus noted that no single customer contributed more than 10% of revenue for the nine months ended Sept. 30, 2026, and that five customers together accounted for about 25% of revenue during that period. Revenue from cloud marketplace sales represented 48% of total revenue at the end of 2025.
