Raiders coach says team is reviewing all options after fourth consecutive loss

Summary

The Las Vegas Raiders fell to 3-4 after a 35-21 defeat, prompting head coach Klint Kubiak to say the staff will review film and consider adjustments, including the quarterback situation.

The Las Vegas Raiders recorded their fourth straight defeat on Sunday, losing 35-21 to the Los Angeles Rams and slipping below .500 for the first time this season. Head coach Klint Kubiak told ESPN that the coaching staff will review game film and evaluate every aspect of the team’s performance.

"We have to go watch the film. I think at this point, we're thinking about everything to fix our problems, how to fix our issues in the red zone, in the third quarter, personnel [and] scheme. We've got to talk about all of it," Kubiak said.

Quarterback Kirk Cousins completed 26 of 44 passes for 295 yards and two touchdowns but also committed two turnovers in the third quarter. Through seven games, Cousins has accumulated 1,877 passing yards, 16 touchdowns and five interceptions, leading the league in touchdown passes.

"I want the football team to have the best chance to win games. [During] the first OTA [practice], if that had become apparent, I would've been the first one to say, 'Yeah, you can't play me,'" Cousins said.

The Raiders’ running game struggled, with Ashton Jeanty catching eight passes for 61 yards and a touchdown but gaining only 15 rushing yards on eight carries. Defensive performance has also been a concern, as the unit has allowed an average of 35.75 points per game over the four-game losing streak.

Kubiak indicated that a quarterback change would not automatically resolve the team’s broader issues and that any decision regarding rookie No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza will depend on further evaluation and upcoming matchups.
