Resurfaced video of former Bachelor star Sam Wood fuels scrutiny after domestic violence charges

An Instagram clip of Sam Wood and his wife resurfaced online, prompting renewed public attention as Wood faces assault and strangulation charges in Queensland.

A video posted to Snezana Wood's Instagram account about two and a half years ago has reappeared on social media, showing the couple conducting an outfit "fit check" for a Melbourne smoothie brand. In the clip, Snezana introduces herself before stumbling over her name, while Wood watches silently before later describing his outfit with a smile.

Since Wood's arrest earlier this month in Queensland on assault occasioning bodily harm and strangulation charges, users have revisited the pair's online history, with some commentators describing the footage as a "red flag" and suggesting it conveys underlying tension.

The video resurfaced after the Herald Sun reported that Snezana had confided to a close friend last year about wanting to leave an abusive relationship. The newspaper cited a source who said the situation was an "open secret" in Brighton and that Snezana sought a way out. A friend also claimed Snezana was photographed without her wedding ring and lacked access to family finances.

Wood is accused of pushing his wife into a wardrobe, choking her, throwing her against a wall and striking her head on the floor during an incident at a Noosa apartment on October 3. The alleged assault was witnessed by Snezana's 21-year-old daughter, who called emergency services. Police prosecutor Sergeant Jeanette Grigoris alleged a prior choking incident in Victoria, which Wood denies.

In a recent Brisbane Supreme Court hearing, Wood's defence sought a broad non-publication order to block media access to bail documents. Justice Patrick McCafferty rejected the request, allowing limited redactions of personal details. Wood remains in custody and is expected to apply for bail in the Supreme Court.
