Manchester United suffered a 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth, extending their winless streak and leaving manager Michael Carrick unsure of his position.

Manchester United lost 3-0 to Bournemouth on Sunday, marking their fifth defeat in eight Premier League matches and extending their winless run to nine games. The result followed a 4-1 loss to Como in the Europa League earlier in the week.

Manager Michael Carring, who had recently dropped captain Bruno Fernandes to the bench, said he accepts that his future is now out of his hands. > "I totally understand the situation," Carrick told a post-match news conference. > "I'm not expecting anything in particular, to be honest. I'm carrying on as normal, and you know, I love this place. I'll always do what I feel is going to be the best for the football club, whatever decision is made on anything really."

Fans expressed their displeasure during and after the match, directing criticism at the club's ownership and senior figures. Carrick acknowledged the supporters' reaction, noting the emotional difficulty of the situation. > "I have to say, really mixed emotions. I probably didn't really expect that from the supporters, if I'm honest, but I've always felt the support and always felt that connection with them anyway. The respect that I have for them and for them to kind of show that back meant an awful lot. It's still such a difficult situation and to go through a day like we have done, in a spell like we have done, is certainly difficult to take. There's real mixed emotions in there for sure."

The defeat adds pressure on Carrick, who has been under scrutiny since the team's Europa League loss in Italy.
