Jane Wiseman exits Paramount+ as Skydance restructures merged streaming operations
Paramount+ head of originals Jane Wiseman is leaving the service following the integration of Paramount+ and HBO Max under Skydance, with HBO executives assuming oversight of original series.
Paramount+ head of originals Jane Wiseman will depart the streamer as Skydance finalizes the merger of Paramount+ and HBO Max. The change was announced by Casey Bloys, co-CEO and chief content officer of Skydance Direct-to-Consumer, in a memo outlining the new leadership structure for the combined streaming division.
Under the new arrangement, Sarah Aubrey, who leads originals for HBO Max, will take responsibility for Paramount+ original series, while several HBO executives will retain their current roles overseeing drama, comedy, late-night, specials and documentary programming. Glenn Whitehead has been appointed president and COO of both HBO and Paramount+, and Francesca Orsi has been promoted to president of HBO drama series and films.
Bloys wrote, "HBO must continue its tradition of television excellence, but we also need HBO Max and Paramount+ to carry their respective momentum forward until we are ready to bring them together, and the responsibilities of the teams must be clearly defined so the creative community would also have clarity on where different programming resides in our operation."
Wiseman, who joined Paramount+ after Skydance’s 2025 acquisition of the brand, highlighted her tenure in a memo, "I’m incredibly proud of this team. It’s been a privilege to be part of it." She previously held senior roles at Netflix and Sister before moving to Paramount+.
The restructuring signals that HBO will remain the primary brand within Skydance’s streaming portfolio, reflecting its larger subscriber base and industry standing.
