Wrestling Legend Ric Flair Hospitalized After Fall in Tampa

Ric Flair was transported to a hospital in Tampa, Florida, on Friday after he fell while crossing the street outside a restaurant. Emergency personnel attended to him at the scene, noting that he sustained cuts to his face and an eye injury that required medical attention, and that a concussion was also suspected.

Flair had earlier posted that he could not travel to a fan convention in Seattle because doctors had advised him against flying due to a blood clot in his leg. In that statement, he said the clot could be serious and mentioned a similar diagnosis for Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts. He also apologized to fans and his agent for missing the event and said he would soon undergo a procedure to have the affected vein stripped.

"I couldn't make it to the convention because doctors told me not to fly with the clot," Flair wrote.

It is not yet clear whether the fall will affect the timing of his planned vein-stripping procedure.
