Jaylen Brown reacts to Jayson Tatum's video about the trade to Philadelphia

Jaylen Brown posted a cap emoji on social media after a video of former Celtics teammate Jayson Tatum was circulated online. In the clip, posted to Tatum's YouTube channel on Thursday, the forward said he was "just as much caught off guard as the rest of the world" by the news that Brown had been traded to the Philadelphia 76ers. Tatum recalled learning of the deal when ESPN reporter Shams Charania approached him after a pickup game in Las Vegas, handing him a towel and informing him of the trade.

"Shams walks over, hands me the towel and says, 'Yo, put this over your face. Don't react. They just traded him.'"

"I'm like, 'Oh, s--t.' I'm like, 'Where?' He said, 'Philly.' I said, 'We traded him down the street?'"

Tatum reflected on his decade-long partnership with Brown, noting that they had always relied on each other on the court and credited each other with improving the team, which culminated in a championship. He said the duo's contributions would be "forever stitched in stone in NBA history."

The trade sent Brown to Philadelphia, where he debuted with a season-opening win over the New York Knicks. Meanwhile, Tatum's Celtics opened the same night with a loss to the Detroit Pistons, marking the first game of the post-Brown era for Boston.
