Erin Foster Responds to Adam Brody's Comments on Palestine While Defending the Show's Jewish Themes

摘要

Creator Erin Foster said she respects Adam Brody’s right to a different view on Palestine but emphasized that her series remains a celebration of Judaism.

"I disagree with him, and that’s OK," Erin Foster told host Amanda Hirsch on the upcoming "Not Skinny but Not Fat" podcast.

Foster, the creator of the Netflix series "Nobody Wants This," addressed co-star Adam Brody’s recent remarks supporting a free Palestine during a GQ interview. She described the situation as “complicated” and likened the set’s atmosphere to “dinner tables around the world where people are having debate and discussion and disagreeing.”

While expressing personal affection for Brody, Foster clarified that she does not share his political stance. She added that the show is intended as “a love letter to Judaism,” reflecting her own experience converting to the faith and her desire to provide positive representation of Jewish people.

Brody, who grew up in a Jewish family but describes himself as not religious, said in the GQ interview that he has discussed the Israel-Gaza conflict extensively in private and now feels compelled to speak publicly. He stated, “Put me down as thinking it’s a genocide. Put me down as wanting a free Palestine,” and described the ongoing violence as reaching a breaking point.

Season three of "Nobody Wants This" is currently streaming on Netflix.
