Saquon Barkley Expected to Return to Practice Ahead of Eagles-Cowboys Game
NFL Network reporter Mike Garafolo says running back Saquon Barkley is slated to practice today and could be active for the Philadelphia Eagles’ Week 7 matchup with the Dallas Cowboys.
Saquon Barkley is expected to resume practice today after missing the past three games with a hamstring injury, and he is "in line to play Monday against the Cowboys," NFL Network reporter Mike Garafolo said.
The Eagles will face Dallas without quarterback Jalen Hurts, but the team’s offense is improving as other players recover. Barkley, who has been sidelined since Week 4, is projected to receive the majority of backfield touches against a Dallas defense that ranks among the league’s higher run-blocking units.
If he returns, analysts anticipate Barkley will serve as at least an RB2 in the Eagles’ Week 7 game plan. The team’s other running backs, including Dameon Pierce, Carson Steele and practice-squad player Jaydon Blue, are expected to share carries while Barkley ramps up.
Philadelphia’s injury report, due later today, will confirm Barkley’s status for the upcoming game.
"He is in line to play Monday against the Cowboys," Garafolo reported.
