Former NBA player Enes Kanter Freedom said he was asked to sit in a private suite for security reasons at Game 3 of the WNBA Finals and left the arena when he declined.

Enes Kanter Freedom, a former NBA player who has spoken publicly against the participation of transgender athletes in women’s sports, said he was asked to move to a private suite at State Farm Arena during Game 3 of the WNBA Finals. In a video posted to X, Freedom is shown requesting to sit in the seats he had purchased, while arena staff told him he must agree to use the suite. After a brief exchange, an officer informed him that he could not remain in the arena, and Freedom left, stating he was removed for “supporting women.”

The Atlanta Dream said the suite was intended to address Freedom’s security concerns and provide a safe experience for him and other guests. Additional arena security and a state police officer were assigned to the suite at Freedom’s request. A Dream spokesperson said Freedom could have returned at any time if he agreed to sit in the suite.

Freedom has previously attended WNBA games and was ejected from a Chicago Sky game after a verbal exchange with a player, leading to a lawsuit alleging First Amendment violations. He posted on X that he had received threats after announcing his plans to attend the Dream’s Game 3 and that the league and the Dream had not commented publicly before the game.
