King Charles urges reconciliation between Prince William and Prince Harry

The monarch is reportedly pressing his sons to appear together publicly before his health declines, citing family unity and the monarchy's image.

King Charles III is said to be encouraging Prince William and Prince Harry to reunite publicly as his health concerns grow. A palace source told RadarOnline that the king views the brothers' ongoing distance as harmful to family relationships and the monarchy's public perception, and that he hopes to see them cooperate before he passes away.

The source added that Charles has asked his sister, Princess Anne, and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, to persuade William to meet with Harry, though William has so far been reluctant. In Prince Harry's memoir "Spare," he recalled the king asking his sons after Prince Philip’s funeral in 2021, "Please boys, don’t make my final years a misery."

According to the same reporting, the king would welcome a modest gesture of cooperation, such as a joint appearance at a family or charitable event, rather than an immediate restoration of close ties. "Such a gesture might involve a family occasion or a charitable event, but the King definitely wants to see it happen soon," a palace source said.

Royal commentator Rob Shuter has suggested that the brothers are discussing a possible meeting. A royal source told another outlet that the ongoing avoidance makes the brothers appear immature and that a reunion would carry personal and symbolic significance for the family.
