Analyst Reports Strong Pre-Order Demand for iPhone 17 Series
Apple's iPhone 17 series sees higher pre-order demand compared to previous models, with the Pro Max leading sales.
Apple's latest iPhone 17 series has experienced robust pre-order demand, surpassing that of the iPhone 16 series, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. The iPhone 17 Pro Max, in particular, has emerged as the most sought-after model. Kuo noted that production for the Pro Max in the third quarter of 2025 is approximately 60% higher than that of its predecessor, the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
The standard iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro models have also seen increased production, with a combined 25% rise compared to the previous year's models. Despite this uptick, estimated delivery lead times have extended by only a week, indicating strong consumer interest.
However, the newly introduced iPhone Air presents a more complex picture. While initial observations suggest demand may be lower than that of the iPhone 16 Plus during the same period last year, Kuo highlighted that production for the iPhone Air is set to be approximately three times higher than that of the iPhone 16 Plus. This substantial increase in production volume suggests that the iPhone Air might be performing well, but further observation is needed to accurately assess its market reception.
Apple's iPhone 17 series became available for pre-order on Friday, September 12, 2025, following their launch at the company's annual September event. The devices are scheduled to arrive in stores on Friday, September 19, 2025.
