Eagles coach Sirianni says all options are on the table amid four-game losing streak

Résumé

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni warned that the team may consider major changes to its offensive scheme after a four-game losing streak and a 25-14 defeat to the Carolina Panthers.

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said the team must explore new approaches to improve scoring after the Eagles fell 25-14 to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, extending their losing streak to four games. Sirianni praised the Panthers’ play design, noting, "I thought it was a good design on their part. I’ll give them credit. They went and executed it and they scored on it," and added that the Eagles need to find ways to put more points on the board.

The loss highlighted ongoing issues with the Eagles’ offense, which has averaged 14.5 points per game over the past four contests. Sirianni emphasized that “everything’s on the table” and that repeating the same strategies without results would be “foolish.” He suggested the possibility of having offensive coordinator Sean Mannion call plays from the field and indicated that adjustments may be required to better suit quarterback Tanner McKee, who has been starting while Jalen Hurts remains sidelined with a blood-clot issue.

Sirianni also addressed defensive communication problems, saying, "Miscommunication" was a factor in the Panthers’ game-sealing touchdown and that the defense must be on the same page to avoid big plays.

The coach acknowledged that responsibility for the offensive struggles is shared among staff and players, stating, "It’s on everybody, right? It’s not just on one coach." He hinted that further changes to the coaching staff could be considered, recalling past in-season adjustments he made to defensive and offensive coordinators.

The Eagles, who have not won a game since Hurts’ injury, continue to face challenges on both sides of the ball, with the offensive line and pass rush also under scrutiny. Sirianni said the organization must maintain a sense of urgency while staying true to its core values as the season progresses.
