Resumen

The Kansas State High School Activities Association halted the flag football state tournament following a vehicle crash that killed a 6-year-old boy and a 35-year-old man and injured 11 others at the Stryker Sports Complex.

The Kansas State High School Activities Association (KSHSAA) announced Saturday that it is suspending the flag football state championship and third-place games after a vehicle crash on a neighboring field at the Stryker Sports Complex. The incident resulted in two fatalities—a 6-year-old boy and a 35-year-old man—and 11 injuries ranging in age from 5 to 68, according to Wichita Police.

"Police responded to multiple reports of a vehicle driving through a youth game and found community members rendering medical aid," said Wichita Police Capt. Aaron Moses. He added that the driver, a 34-year-old woman, remained cooperative with investigators and that the truck involved also contained two juveniles.

Authorities are collecting video and images from witnesses to aid the investigation. KSHSAA expressed condolences to the families and teams affected and said it will provide further details about the rescheduled tournament on Monday.
