Bears activate quarterback Caleb Williams for Sunday game

Resumen

Caleb Williams is listed as active for the Chicago Bears' Sunday matchup after missing three games with a hamstring injury.

Chicago announced that quarterback Caleb Williams will be active for its 1 p.m. ET game against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. Williams missed the past three contests after sustaining a hamstring injury in the Bears' Week 2 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. He participated fully in practice throughout the week and posted a video on social media on Friday indicating his readiness to return.

Michael Penix will serve as the backup quarterback. Penix, who was sidelined by rib injuries in the previous loss to the Baltimore Ravens, also took part in practice and carries no injury designation.

The Bears' roster for the game includes running back Kyle Monangai, cornerback Tyrique Stevenson, linebackers T.J. Edwards and Keyshaun Elliott, offensive lineman Jordan McFadden, defensive lineman Jayden Loving, and veteran quarterback Case Keenum. The Falcons will field quarterbacks Cooper Rush and Jack Strand among other starters.
