Ohio State secured a 19-15 win at Indiana, but the victory was marred by injuries to starting quarterback Julian Sayin and defensive end Kenyatta Jackson, with coach Ryan Day expecting Sayin to miss several weeks.

Ohio State defeated Indiana 19-15 on Saturday in Bloomington, earning a key midseason triumph but losing two starters to injury. Starting quarterback Julian Sayin left the game with a right-arm injury, briefly visiting the locker room before returning to the sideline with a sling. Defensive end Kenyatta Jackson also suffered an injury; he initially returned to play but required assistance from staff and teammate Eddrick Houston to leave the field after the game.

Coach Ryan Day said he had limited information on Sayin’s condition but anticipated the quarterback would be sidelined for several weeks. He did not comment on Jackson during the post-game press conference. Day highlighted the team’s aggressive two-minute drill that led to the final pass and praised receiver Jeremiah Smith for a 38-yard touchdown catch in the fourth quarter.

"We were aggressive in that moment and it worked out for us. I thought the defense just grinded all game."

Day noted that freshman backup quarterback Luke Fahey would see increased reps, acknowledging the challenge for the young player.

"Tough spot for him to come into. I think it was moving fast for him there."

He also commended Indiana receiver Charlie Becker, who recorded nine catches for 165 yards.

"He’s a tremendous player."

Looking ahead, Day said the Buckeyes would rely on depth and experience to navigate the upcoming schedule.

"We’ll come together and figure this out."
