Guardians ticket holders face schedule change after ALDS rain postponement

Résumé

A rain delay forced the postponement of Game 4 of the ALDS, prompting the Guardians to shift ticket assignments to Game 5, leaving some fans concerned about missing a potential pennant-clinching game.

Rain forced the postponement of Game 4 of the American League Division Series between the Cleveland Guardians and the Tampa Bay Rays, delaying the start by about an hour after the scheduled first pitch. The delay required fans who had already traveled to the stadium to adjust their plans.

The Guardians announced that tickets originally purchased for Game 4 will be valid for the rescheduled Game 5 on Sunday, while tickets for Game 5 can still be used for the originally planned Saturday night game. This ticket swap means that fans who expected to attend a potential pennant-clinching game on Saturday may now be attending an earlier matchup.

"This is an insane way to handle tickets. Tomorrow should be Game 4 and Sunday should be Game 5. Tickets should be used in that order. This is gonna cause hella problems," wrote a user on X.

"Imagine you thought you had tickets to a possible pennant-clining win at home tomorrow night and they just casually change your tickets to Game 4. Totally ridiculous. Game is not of equal value," another commenter added.

"I'd be a little annoyed if I bought what could be series ending tickets and got moved up a game," a third fan said.

If the weather holds for the rescheduled start, first pitch is set for 8:00 p.m. ET on Saturday.
