Sunny Hostin criticizes Kelly Clarkson after store footage released

Resumen

On Thursday's episode of "The View," Sunny Hostin called Kelly Clarkson's behavior "petty" after security video showed the singer spent only a few minutes in a Brooklyn store, reigniting a dispute over the incident.

Sunny Hostin said Kelly Clarkson appeared to have a "tantrum" and was "a little petty" after security footage from a Brooklyn curiosity shop showed Clarkson was in the store for only a short time. Hostin added that, with a large platform, Clarkson bears responsibility for how she addresses criticism on social media.

Guest co-host Raven-Symoné agreed that Clarkson's reaction was petty but argued that the singer should not be silenced because of her follower count, noting that personal background and past experiences can shape how someone responds to perceived disrespect.

The dispute began when Clarkson posted on X accusing the shop of treating her poorly and later claimed the store lied about the availability of a $15,000 mechanical bird she wanted. The store, Art of Play, said the item was not for sale and that Clarkson had been inside for only five minutes, describing the episode as a misunderstanding. Co-owner Adam Rubin called the saga "ludicrous" and "surreal," labeling it a "he-said, she-said" situation and criticizing what he called a "reprehensible abuse of power" by the singer.
