Hilary Swank Announces Pregnancy at Age 52

Actress Hilary Swank disclosed on social media that she is pregnant with her third child, expected to arrive in December. The announcement was shared through a video in which Swank and her family danced with glow sticks, culminating in a reveal of her baby bump. Swank, 52, previously gave birth to twins, daughter Aya and son Ohm, three years ago with her husband Philip Schneider, who is also 52.

Dr. Kameelah Phillips, an obstetrician-gynecologist, noted that pregnancy at this age is uncommon and involves significant medical considerations. She explained that while most women in this age group are entering menopause, a pregnancy can be achieved through in-vitro fertilization, but it typically requires monitoring by a high-risk care team due to increased chances of gestational hypertension, preeclampsia, diabetes and the likelihood of a C-section.

Swank previously told "CBS Sunday Morning" that being an older parent allows her to focus on motherhood without competing professional demands.
