Dodgers' Max Muncy urges fans to boost home-field advantage in NLCS
First baseman Max Muncy asked Los Angeles supporters to fill Dodger Stadium for Games 3 and 4 of the National League Championship Series as the team seeks to avoid a 0-2 deficit.
The Los Angeles Dodgers trail the Milwaukee Brewers 0-2 in the National League Championship Series and will host Games 3 and 4 at Dodger Stadium. The club hopes to leverage its strong home record, having gone 51-30 at the venue during the regular season and drawing over four million fans for the second straight year.
"We need them to show up and we need them to be loud," Muncy said. "I’ll give Milwaukee their credit. This place was electric the last two nights. We need to be the same way at home and make them feel the same way we have the last couple nights."
Muncy added that the team remains confident despite the early setbacks, noting the Brewers' solid performance but emphasizing the Dodgers' ability to win multiple games in a row.
"There’s still a lot of series left. Obviously you’d like to come out of here with one, and hopefully two, but that wasn’t the case this time. They’re playing really well over there. They’re a good team, they’re executing their pitches, they’re getting base hits when they need to. They’re doing a lot of the little things. But there’s still a lot of series left. I’m still going to bet on us, for sure."
The upcoming games mark the first occasion since the 2023 NL Division Series that the Dodgers have fallen behind by at least two games in a postseason series. The franchise has previously rallied from deficits in championship rounds, including a 3-1 comeback against the Atlanta Braves in 2020 and a 2-1 reversal of the San Diego Padres in the 2024 NL Division.
