Texas A&M Climbs to No. 10 in Coaches Poll; Clemson and Notre Dame Drop After Week 3 Losses

Summary

Texas A&M enters the top 10 following a win over Notre Dame, while Clemson and Notre Dame fall in the rankings after Week 3 defeats.

Texas A&M has advanced to No. 10 in the latest Coaches Poll after a significant victory over Notre Dame. Previously ranked 16th, the Aggies' win marks their first road victory against a top-10 opponent since 2015.

Clemson has exited the rankings following a last-second loss to Georgia Tech in their ACC opener. This marks the first time since 2023 that Clemson is unranked in both major polls after starting the season 1-2. Georgia Tech enters the rankings at No. 18, having improved to 7-1 against nationally ranked ACC teams under coach Brent Key.

In a notable Week 3 matchup, Georgia edged out Tennessee in overtime, 44-41. The game featured nearly 1,000 yards of total offense and seven lead changes before Georgia's Josh McCray secured the win with a 1-yard run in overtime.

Vanderbilt has entered the rankings at No. 20 after ending a 16-game losing streak to No. 11 South Carolina. The Commodores' three consecutive wins by 20 points or more to start the season is a first for the program since 1930.

Ohio State remains at No. 1, securing most of the first-place votes for the third consecutive week following a win over Ohio. The Buckeyes began the season ranked third as defending national champions and moved to the top spot after defeating then-No. 1 Texas in the season opener.
