Manager Dave Roberts said Ohtani feels ready to start in Game 3 of the National League Championship Series, while the player acknowledged lingering symptoms but focused on swing adjustments.

Los Angeles – The Los Angeles Dodgers announced that two-way star Shohei Ohtani will be in the lineup for Game 3 of the National League Championship Series on Wednesday. The decision follows a brief discussion between the player and manager Dave Roberts, who said Ohan was confident about his health.

"I did speak to Sho, had a great conversation. He's adamant he feels good enough to be in there. He's close to finding something with his swing. I feel great about it. He wants to be in there and help us win a ballgame and win a championship," Roberts said.

Ohtani, speaking through interpreter Will Ireton, acknowledged that symptoms from recent injuries have lessened but emphasized that they should not affect his hitting.

"The symptoms have subdued a lot, especially compared to when I was on the IL. The symptoms shouldn't be the reason why I can't hit," Ohtani said.

The player has struggled offensively in the postseason, recording three hits in 20 at-bats and seven strikeouts. Roberts described Ohtani's condition as involving multiple areas, including the upper body and knee, but noted the player believes he is ready to compete.

"It's everything. It's the upper body, it's the knee, and he's just not perfect. He's not. But in his words, he's ready to go," Roberts added.

The Dodgers trail the Milwaukee Brewers 0-2 in the series, and Ohtani's participation will be closely watched as the team seeks to even the matchup.
