Dancing with the Stars features Super Bowl-themed performances

摘要

Season 35 of Dancing with the Stars presented a Super Bowl night, with remaining couples dancing to songs by past halftime performers and receiving scores from the judging panel.

Season 35 of Dancing with the Stars aired a Super Bowl-themed episode, in which the eight remaining couples performed to tracks previously featured in Super Bowl halftime shows, such as Shakira, Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez and Bad Bunny. The episode also included guest judge Joe Buck, the lead play-by-play announcer for ESPN’s Monday Night Football.

Maura Higgins and Mark Ballas performed a tango to Rihanna’s “Only Girl (In the World)”. Carrie Ann Inaba praised Higgins’ performance but noted that her Latin movements needed more punctuation, awarding a score of 33 out of 40.

Jackson Olson and Emma Slater danced a salsa to “Uptown Funk”. Derek Hough commented, “I think this was your best dance. It just felt like you really committed and owned that floor,” and the pair received 31 points.

Amber Glenn and Pasha Pashkov delivered a samba to “Mi Gente”. Bruno Tonioli said, “She knows how to get the party started!” and gave them 34 points.

Tyler Cameron and Sharna Burgess performed a jazz routine to the Black Eyed Peas’ “The Time (Dirty Bit)”. Bruno noted, “Tyler, I love when you go dirty dancing!” and scored the couple 30.

Connor Wood and Rylee Arnold attempted a samba to “Hips Don’t Lie”. Bruno critiqued the hip-foot action, resulting in a score of 25 out of 30.

Julia Stiles and Ezra Sosa presented a jazz number to a remix of “Jenny From the Block”. Carrie Ann exclaimed, “I know this is the wrong movie, but I think we just got served!” and gave them 33 points.

Tatyana Ali and Jan Ravnik performed a salsa to “Squabble Up”. While the judges felt the tempo was low for a salsa, Joe Buck said it was his favorite of the night. Bruno encouraged them to push further, and they earned 29 points.

Guillermo Rodriguez and Whitney Carson danced a salsa to Bad Bunny’s “Tití Me Preguntó”. Carrie Ann scored them 22, and the pair were eliminated.

Jenna Dewan and Val Chmerkovskiy performed a paso doble to Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance”, receiving enthusiastic praise from Bruno and a perfect 36.

Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson delivered a samba to Usher’s “Yeah!”. Carrie Ann reminded them to keep the routine within the Latin style, awarding 33 points.

Ezra Frech and Daniella Karagach closed the show with a salsa to Nelly’s “Hot in Herre”. Derek said, “I genuinely get lost in your performances. Fantastic way to close the show,” and the duo also earned 36 points.

The elimination round resulted in Guillermo Rodriguez and Whitney Carson leaving the competition, while the next episode will focus on Dedication Night.
