Los Angeles manager Dave Roberts said he will discuss Ohtani's role with the player after the star's limited production in the first two games of the National League Championship Series.

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said he will talk with two-way star Shohei Ohtani about his role in Game 3 of the National League Championship Series after the player went 1-for-7 with three strikeouts in the first two games against the Milwaukee Brewers.

"Yeah, I mean, obviously it hasn't been good. He doesn't feel great. I think for me, it's having a conversation with him tomorrow, kind of try to figure out what's best for him, what's best for us. He certainly has earned that conversation and deserves it. I'll have [that conversation] with him tomorrow," Roberts told reporters.

Ohtani's postseason performance to date includes three hits, all singles, and seven strikeouts over six games, giving him a .150/.261/.150 slash line. The player has also been dealing with lingering knee and biceps issues that limited him in the latter part of the regular season.

The Dodgers have adjusted the batting order to accommodate Ohtani's condition, but the team remains under pressure after falling behind 0-2 in the series. Whether the club will keep Ohtani in the lineup for the upcoming game could influence the outcome of the series.
